"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
Sir Winston Churchill, 1874 – 1965
British Statesman and Prime Minister
It is often forgotten that new staff members form their earliest impressions of an organisation during induction, deeply affecting the attitude and behaviour of a person before they even join the team. A good induction can reinforce a positive culture and set staff on the right track from day one.
We can either undertake a full induction of new staff on your behalf or just “fill in the gaps” for you. Prior to undertaking any training, it is our policy to gain a clear understanding of your organisation so that we can tailor your courses for maximum benefit.
The Common Induction Standards are as follows:
Standard 1 Role of the health and social care worker
Standard 2 Personal development
Standard 3 Communicate effectively
Standard 4 Equality and inclusion
Standard 5 Principles for implementing duty of care
Standard 6 Principles of safeguarding in health and social care
Standard 7 Person-centred support
Standard 8 Health and safety in an adult social care setting
Standard 8 encompasses:
-
risk assessing
-
security
-
First Aid
-
COSHH
-
Fire Safety Awareness
-
Managing Stress
-
infection control
-
Food Safety and nutrition (CIEH)
-
moving and positioning/manual handling (CIEH)
It is recommended that an annual refresher programme is in place.
