The Adult Social Care (ASC) Workforce Data Set is an online database which holds data on the adult social care workforce. It is the leading source of workforce intelligence and holds information on around 25,000 establishments and 700,000 workers across England.
Lead to Succeed and Well-Led now attract £500 funding per delegate from the Workforce Development Fund. The new single-day CPD modules, Understanding Self Management Skills, Understanding Performance Management and Understanding Workplace Culture, are all fully funded at £125 per delegate.

The Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) is an online service managed by Skills for Care on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). The service collects workplace and workforce data from care providers and local authorities.
The ASC-WDS service helps care providers run their business and manage their staff training needs. It can also provide access to the Workforce Development Fund, a valuable source of funding for staff training.
Why should you open an ASC-WDS account?
Get access to the Workforce Development Fund. You can claim funding towards training and qualification for your staff.
See benchmarks that show how your business is performing. Benchmark your workplace against others offering the same service in your area.
Create an ASC-WDS account

To create your account, you will need to add your name and job title and set up a password and security question. Once this is done, you need to provide a few basic details to get started including:
- Is your service CQC registered?
- Add your workplace using your CQC location ID or postcode
- What is the main service you provide?
- How many staff do you have?
This takes approximately 5 minutes and once completed, Skills for Care Support Team will check the details you have provided in order to approve your account.
Adding workplace information
Once your account has been approved you can start to add information about your workplace such as:
- Do you provide any other services? If applicable, what service capacity do you have?
- Who are your service users?
- Do you have any current vacancies?
- How many staff have joined and left in the last 12 months?
Next, you can add your staff records which include:
- Personal details and demographic information
- Employment details such as contracted hours, salary and sickness
- Qualification details such as the highest level attained and whether the Care Certificate has been completed
