How they relate to each other

The new Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is built on the same 16 Care Certificate standards introduced in 2025, but it goes further by deepening and consolidating the learner’s knowledge and understanding.

How to use both to support learning

The Care Certificate is an excellent starting point for new employees and should be completed during their first three months as part of induction.

Once staff are established in their role and committed to the organisation, we recommend enrolling them onto the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate. This formalises their learning and provides strong evidence for CQC compliance.

A common mistake is treating the two programmes separately, which creates unnecessary duplication and delays employers from claiming the final 40% of funding.

Working with our clients, we have created a seamless pathway between the Care Certificate and the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate. Our Care Certificate workbooks can be used as prior learning towards the qualification, reducing duplication and helping employers achieve a faster return on investment.

The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is funded through LDSS, with 60% claimed on enrolment and the remaining 40% on successful completion.
