Course Outline

The Understanding Performance Management course was designed by Skills for Care and is currently being delivered either using Zoom or Face to Face.

Continuous performance management is essential for a well-managed service and demands a complex mix of skills from the manager. This workshop will explore the performance management cycle to understand how interventions at each point can make a positive impact. High-performers and under-performers will be identified and activities to motivate and enhance their performance are explored. The workshop will familiarise you with the ACAS Code of Practice to to give you the confidence to manage difficult situations with confidence. Learn techniques that you can adopt to help with challenging conversations that are an inevitable element of performance management. Understand how to deal with your own anxiety when dealing with performance issues.

We are not an “e-learning” company, our history is steeped in face-to-face training and supporting our learners is our main priority. We are real people who you can speak to when you need to. All CPD workshops include a tutorial, but you can book a telephone call at any time if you are unsure about anything or need additional support.

Who is this course for?

Registered managers and other managers currently working in adult social care services.

Understanding Performance Management was developed by Skills for Care to assist managers to manage the performance of their team.  It is suitable for registered managers, aspiring managers, team leaders and others in a leadership role.
