About this course
Understanding self-management skills has been designed by Skills for Care to support the development of social care leaders. is currently being delivered via blended learning, using our learning platform and telephone or Skype tutorials. Care leadership demands emotional intelligence, great time management and excellent communication skills. As social care managers, we juggle the often conflicting needs of staff, service users, their family, the owners/directors of the service that you manage, commissioners, regulators and so much more. It is not surprising that managers sometimes feel overwhelmed and lose their work/life balance.
This workshop addresses many of these issues and offers a range of tools and actions that can be taken away and actioned immediately. The use self-reflection is encouraged to enable learning from day-to-day experiences, recognising what went well, and what could have been done differently.
Isolation can be an issue for managers if they are unable to meet or speak with peers regularly. This workshop will give managers ideas and tools to tackle isolation. Learn how to manage time effectively to ensure that you focus your efforts on what matters. Explore how to build resilience and improve wellbeing.
We are not an “e-learning” organisation; our history is steeped in face-to-face training and supporting our learners is our main priority. We are real people who you can speak to when you need to. All CPD workshops include a tutorial, but you can book a telephone call at any time if you are unsure about anything or need additional support.
